Making socks from CO2? Admittedly, we're not quite that far yet. Instead, we got support from real CO2 professionals for the CO2 reduction project: namely from the Swiss direct air capture pioneers Climeworks. Climeworks filters CO2 from the ambient air with its Direct Air Capture technology in Iceland. The CO2 is then mixed with water and pumped deep below the earth's surface. Due to natural mineralization, the carbon dioxide reacts with the basalt rock and turns into stone itself within a few years. With every purchase of our climate socks, we permanently remove CO2 from the atmosphere. You can find more information about Climeworks and their CO2 absorption process here.
DillySocks is carbon neutral! Climate-neutral company and climate-neutral socks, that means: we have recorded our greenhouse gas emissions, continuously reduce them and have offset the unavoidable emissions through climate protection projects. We are currently supporting a social impact project in India and the clean drinking water project in Sierra Leone. The cooperation with climeworks is an additional engine for CO2 reduction. Our climate boxes with 3 socks are not only climate neutral, but also climate positive. Pretty cool socks!
Would you like to do something for the climate yourself? Polar bears are your favorite animals? Do you simply like colored socks? Then the climate socks are just right for you! The climate boxes are also perfect as a gift: Whether for Christmas, birthdays or anniversaries - our climate socks are the perfect gift for climate-conscious people who want to combine cool socks with CO2 reduction.
Like all other DillySocks, our climate socks are produced exclusively with organic cotton. We love organic cotton and keep the cotton content in our socks as high as possible - usually between 70 and 85%. The natural fiber is a real power player: Because it is pleasantly soft to wear, it is a renewable resource and biodegradable. When growing our organic cotton, 100% of the use of synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilizers and environmentally harmful chemicals is avoided. The water consumption of organic cotton is also much lower than that of conventionally grown cotton. Yeeha!
