Climate Box and Climate Socks

Climeworks uses its direct air capture technology in Iceland to filter CO2 from the ambient air. The CO2 is then mixed with water and pumped deep underground. Through natural mineralisation, the carbon dioxide reacts with the basalt rock and turns into stone itself within just a few years. A climate-neutral company and climate-neutral socks means: we have measured our greenhouse gas emissions, are continuously reducing them and have offset the unavoidable emissions through climate protection projects. We currently support a social impact project in India and a clean drinking water project in Sierra Leone. Our collaboration with Climeworks is an additional driver for CO2 reduction. Like all other DillySocks, our climate socks are made from certified organic cotton. We love organic cotton and keep the cotton content in our socks as high as possible – usually between 70 and 85%. This natural fibre is a real powerhouse: it feels pleasantly soft, is a renewable raw material and is biodegradable. Our organically grown cotton is cultivated 100% without synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilisers or environmentally harmful chemicals. Organic cotton also uses significantly less water than conventionally grown cotton. Yeeha!
